Mahurin Education Professor at Western Kentucky University. Professor Julia L. Roberts is Director of the Center for Gifted Studies and the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky. Dr. Roberts is a member of the Executive Board of the World Council for Gifted Children and a board member of the Kentucky Gifted Education Association.

Dr. Celal Yiğit
Assesment and evaluation in education

He graduated from METU English Language Teaching Department in 2001. He completed his master's degree in Education Programs and Instruction at Gaziantep University in 2010 and also his doctorate program in the same university and field in 2016.

Yiğit, who has presented papers in various national and international congresses, has also papers and publications in areas such as action research, professional development, assessment and evaluation in preschool, assessment and evaluation in distance education, teachers' beliefs about learning, scale development, learner autonomy, organizational commitment, multiple intelligences, effective use of  DynEd and classroom management. Working at Gaziantep Private SANKO Schools since 2001, Dr. Yigit is the Director of Assessment and Evaluation.

In the workshop, which will be for teachers and teacher candidates, types of assessment will be discussed according to their purpose , and the use of different tools will be emphasized, especially in process assessment.

Dr. Serap Karabacak

Lifelong learning in the 21st century

She completed his doctorate in Ankara University, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Department of Lifelong Learning and Adult Education in 2011. She works on issues such as gender in lifelong learning, andragogy, educators working with adults, quality processes in lifelong learning, the effects of technological changes on adult learning. In addition, there are paper presentations, interviews, published articles and book chapters on lifelong learning. She still works in the Department of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Lifelong Learning.

The workshop will cover topics such as basic skills in lifelong learning, dynamics that determine the content of lifelong learning, and the place of technology in the lives of adults.

P4C Trainer: He will organize a workshop on “Philosophy for Children”.

In the study, what P4C is, a method that emerged in line with the studies of the American philosopher Matthew Lipman, and how it can be used will be explained with practical examples. Creative Problem Solving in Education

Dr. Hasan Akdeniz completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Biology Teaching at Marmara University, his master's degree in the field of Curriculum Development in Education at Gazi University, and his PhD in the Department of Educational Programs-Teaching and Educational Technologies at Gazi University. His fields are; creativity, scientific creativity, mind maps, creative problem solving, program development in the field of special talents, habits of mind, differentiated teaching.

WORKSHOP CONTENT:

With this workshop, it is aimed to increase the awareness and knowledge level of pre-service and in-service teachers about the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) cycle and styles.

CPS; includes high-level thinking skills such as creative, critical and analytical thinking. Divergent thinking and convergent thinking skills are used at every stage of the CPS. The CPS process consists of eight stages, each of which includes different cognitive activities, including problem finding, information gathering, problem definition, idea finding, evaluation and selection, planning, creating acceptance and implementation. Individuals approach problems differently according to their CPS styles. It is aimed at teachers to benefit from the CPS process in the design and execution of teaching activities, and by this means, the development of students' creativity, critical thinking, entrepreneurship and teamwork skills.

International standards for school managers and teachers in gifted and talented education

After graduated from doctorate program in educational management and supervision department in 2014, Çiğdem Şahin completed postdoctoral research at Johns Hopkins University. She has presented papers in various national and international congresses, has also papers and publications in areas of teacher education, educational management, gifted education. She has been working as teacher at Science and Arts Center/Ministry of National Education

In the workshop which will be for academics, teacher candidates, teachers, and school managers, international qualifications for teachers and school managers in gifted and talented education will be discussed.
